iPad Air is about to be "upgraded" with a 90Hz screen?

Leaked sources say Apple is developing 90Hz displays for iPad Air, iMac, and Studio Display.

A new leak has revealed that the iPad Air - Apple's mid-range tablet line - could be upgraded to a 90Hz display next year. This information comes from an anonymous source who spoke to the Upgrade podcast.

Currently, the iPad Air uses a 60Hz display, while the iPad Pro is equipped with a more advanced 120Hz ProMotion display. Upgrading to 90Hz will make the iPad Air have a smoother experience, narrowing the gap with its "senior" iPad Pro.

The source also said that this 90Hz screen technology will be applied by Apple to the 24-inch iMac and Studio Display in the future, possibly in 2025.

However, it is worth noting that the 90Hz screen on the iPad Air will be "fixed", without the ability to automatically adjust the refresh rate like ProMotion on the iPad Pro. This can affect the battery life of the device.

However, this is still a worthy upgrade for the iPad Air, helping to increase its competitiveness with rivals in the mid-range segment. Will Apple really "upgrade" the screen for the iPad Air? The answer will be available next year.

In a report in May, Jeff Pu said that Apple's first foldable devices will be mass produced in 2025 and 2026. Previously, there was evidence that foldable devices had appeared in Apple's supply chain.

At that time, the analyst said, Apple would introduce an iPad or MacBook with a foldable screen before launching a foldable iPhone in late 2026.

According to Jeff Pu, Apple's device with a 20.3-inch foldable screen will be produced by the end of 2025, earlier than previously expected. However, the "Apple House" will enter the foldable screen market in the second quarter of 2026 due to "screen durability issues".
