Instead of reducing prices after the iPhone 16 series has been sold, the iPhone 15 series is about to increase in price.
Apple Authorized Resellers (AARs) in Vietnam are in the peak period of delivering the first batch of devices to customers who have pre-ordered. While many tech enthusiasts are eager to upgrade to the iPhone 16 series, many other consumers are waiting for the price of the iPhone 15 series to decrease so they can have the opportunity to own last year's outstanding phone model. However, is the price of the iPhone 15 series really reduced compared to before?
The iPhone 15 Pro Max is more affordable than the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
On September 27, the day the iPhone 16 series was officially launched in Vietnam, the price of genuine iPhone 15 at authorized dealers (AAR) was adjusted, but the fluctuation was not too large. Retail systems are competing fiercely with each other, creating quite close preferential prices.
The selling price of the iPhone 15 series on the shelves of TGDĐ and FPT Shop is currently higher than many other competitors. Specifically, the iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB in titanium blue is listed by CellphoneS at VND 29.29 million, VND 100,000 cheaper than FPT Shop and VND 300,000 cheaper than TGDĐ. Compared to the iPhone 16 Pro Max 256GB priced at VND 34.99 million, consumers will save nearly VND 6 million when choosing to buy the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The iPhone 15 128GB version is currently being sold for 19.69 million VND at TGDĐ and FPT Shop. However, this product is priced lower at CellphoneS, only 19.59 million VND. Meanwhile, 24hStore has a more attractive price, ranging from 19.19 - 19.39 million VND, depending on the color. The price difference between these stores is between 100,000 - 400,000 VND.
Especially on this occasion, 24hStore is having rare goods with iPhone 15 Pro 256GB "active fullbox" (100% new but with pre-activated warranty) for 2 million VND cheaper than the price of the device without activated warranty. Specifically, the natural titanium color active fullbox device is being sold for 24.99 million VND.
In general, compared to last month, the selling price of the iPhone 15 series has some products remaining the same, some products decreasing, and especially many products increasing in price by up to 300,000 VND. According to the representative of CellphoneS, instead of only reducing the price on the latest and previous products, in 2024, Apple will distribute the reduction evenly across the first, second, and third quarters.
"For example, in April 2024, the iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max was reduced by about 4 - 5 million VND compared to the price when it was launched (from 34.99 million VND to 29.99 million VND). After the iPhone 16 series was launched, the listed price of the iPhone 15 series was reduced by Apple by about 3 million VND and for old generation products, it was reduced by 1 - 2 million VND. However, in fact, the price in the Vietnamese market was adjusted before (when Apple officially announced)", a representative of CellphoneS informed.
"Therefore, there will be no real big discounts for the iPhone 15 series at the end of September. In addition, on Apple's official website, customers will no longer be able to order the iPhone 11, iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 lines (except for the 128GB iPhone 13 in white and black), iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone Pro Max. The price fluctuations of old products will depend on market demand and the balance between supply and demand in Vietnam, along with the amount of goods distributed through distributors," the representative added.
Similarly, a representative of the 24hStore system also commented: "We predict that the price of the iPhone 15 series will remain the same at the end of September, because at the beginning of the month there were several strong price adjustments for this product line. The current price of the iPhone 15 series is very good compared to when it was first sold."
