Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra launched

The premium tablet pair - Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra have been launched with powerful chips and more AI features.

Samsung's next generation of premium Android tablets is here. This year, the standard 11-inch Galaxy Tab S has been dropped, leaving only the 12.4-inch Galaxy Tab S10+ and 14.6-inch Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra models.

For the first time, the Tab S tablet is equipped with a MediaTek chip, the Dimensity 9300+. This chip is manufactured on TSMC's 3rd generation 4nm process, has 1 Cortex-X4 core at 3.4 GHz, 3 other X4 cores at 2.85 GHz, and 4 Cortex-A720 cores at 2.0 GHz. The GPU is an ARM Immortalis-G720 and there is a MediaTek 790 NPU.

Compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 inside the Galaxy Tab S9 generation, the new CPU is 18% faster, the new GPU is 28% faster, and the new NPU delivers a 14% performance increase, Samsung says.

The basic memory configuration is still 12GB RAM/ 256GB ROM (supports expansion via slot). Users can choose the 512GB version if they need more storage space. The Ultra version is the only version that offers the option with 16GB RAM and 1TB internal memory.

The dimensions of both tablets are almost identical to their predecessors, with the only exception being that they are both 0.1mm thinner. They are also about 15g lighter, while maintaining an IP68 dust and water resistance rating. The casing is made of super-durable Armor Aluminum.

The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra has a 14.6-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,960 x 1,848px and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It has two cameras: a 12MP wide-angle camera and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The tablet has an 11,200mAh battery (same as the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra) with Samsung's standard 45W charging.

Interestingly, despite using the same chip, the two tablets have different connectivity options. Both have Wi-Fi and 5G connectivity. However, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra has sub-6GHz 5G and Wi-Fi 7 (be) connectivity.

The 5G version of the smaller Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ comes with both sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G options but is limited to Wi-Fi 6E (ax) connectivity.

The Galaxy Tab S10+ has a 12.4-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,800 x 1,752px. And since there's only one front-facing camera (12MP wide), it's built into the bezel, with no notch. Both tablets have an anti-reflective coating.

The Galaxy Tab S10+ has a 10,090mAh battery (same as the Galaxy Tab S9+) with 45W charging.

Both tablets come with Android 14 operating system pre-installed.

The software on the tablets includes familiar Galaxy AI features. The S Pen (which comes with the tablets) can activate AI-powered Air Command for easy access to the Galaxy AI Assistant. Additionally, if you're using a keyboard cover, you can use the dedicated Galaxy AI Key feature.

The Galaxy Tab S10 can also become a Galaxy Home AI device. They can create a 3D map view of the home, making it easy and intuitive for users to find the SmartThings device they want to control.

The two new tablets are available for pre-order now and will be available starting October 3. The Galaxy Tab S10+ starts at $1,000. The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, on the other hand, starts at $1,200. Both come in two colors: Moonstone Gray and Platinum Silver.
