The iPhone 16 Pro has truly valuable improvements from the features of the iPhone 15 Pro.
The article by author Ryan Christoffel of 9To5Mac will give you a detailed look at whether to upgrade from iPhone 15 Pro to iPhone 16 Pro or not:
The iPhone 16 Pro is here, and I've upgraded from my iPhone 15 Pro. After a week of hands-on time, here are four reasons why I don't regret upgrading this year.
Temperature and battery life are significantly improved
Apple changed the battery architecture of the iPhone 16, and it's a big upgrade over the iPhone 15 Pro. The battery on the iPhone 16 Pro is larger, which is welcome. However, for me, the extra battery life is less important than the improved temperature.
My iPhone 15 Pro frequently overheats when used outdoors, especially while using the camera to capture memorable moments.
Thanks to the internal changes in the iPhone 16 Pro, I can't remember a single time my iPhone got too hot over the past week. With improved heat dissipation, the iPhone 16 Pro can maintain peak performance in a variety of usage environments.
Minimum brightness 1 nit
The iPhone 16 Pro's Super Retina XDR display gets a few upgrades over its predecessor. It's larger and has a tougher Ceramic Shield layer. But the change I noticed most was the device's minimum brightness.
The iPhone 16 Pro can dim down to just 1 nit. Apple doesn't disclose the minimum brightness of the iPhone 15 Pro, but when comparing the two models side by side, the difference is really noticeable.
If you frequently use your iPhone while lying in bed next to a sleeping loved one, or simply in dark spaces, the 16 Pro's darker display is a small but helpful upgrade.
5x telephoto lens
I haven't used the iPhone Max models in years, so my iPhone 15 Pro is limited to 3x optical zoom with the telephoto lens. The 15 Pro Max, however, is capable of 5x zoom.
Now with the iPhone 16, both the Pro and Pro Max models have 5x zoom, and I'm excited about this.
Most of my photos are still taken with the main camera, but I use the telephoto lens frequently. And as many iPhone 15 Pro Max users have noted since last year, the upgrade from 3x to 5x is a big jump.
I'm still getting used to the new zoom level of the telephoto lens, but the amazing photos have really impressed and excited me.
Desert Titanium Color
After seeing Apple's promotional images and review videos from other users, I was left wondering if the Desert Titanium color was the right choice for me.
Luckily, I really like this color. It looks similar to the gold of previous iPhone generations and is exactly what I wanted.
Even in the light that makes the gold appear softer, the titanium details still give it a special sparkle that makes this color unmistakable. It's not too bright, but more like a soft champagne or rose gold.
Conclude
All in all, upgrading your iPhone every year isn’t necessary, as the changes aren’t big enough to make it worthwhile for most people. However, if you’ve always wanted the best iPhone, the iPhone 16 Pro offers a number of advantages over the 15 Pro.
In daily use, each person will have their own list of features that meet their needs and that they see the biggest difference. For me, the upgrades of the iPhone 16 Pro are completely worth it.
