According to the latest report, Apple has changed the production structure for the iPhone 16 series to prioritize the iPhone 16 Pro models.

The iPhone Pro models are currently the most popular choice among consumers. With high sales expectations for the iPhone 16 Pro versions, Apple is making changes to maintain this trend.

According to The Elec, the supply chain is speculating that Apple will produce about 90.1 million iPhone 16 Series units. Of which, the iPhone 16 will be produced in quantity of 24.5 million units, iPhone 16 Plus is 5.8 million units, iPhone 16 Pro is 26.6 million units and iPhone 16 Pro Max is 33.2 million units.

In other words, the iPhone 16 will account for 27% of total new iPhone production , the iPhone 16 Pro Max will account for 37%, the iPhone 16 Pro will reach 30%, and the iPhone 16 Plus will account for just 6%.

This means that the iPhone 16 Pro models will account for 67% of total new iPhone production, which is a very high percentage, suggesting that Apple is quite confident that many people will choose the higher-end iPhone models.

This 67% rate is also equivalent to the iPhone 15 generation (according to statistics in September 2023). In August 2023, this rate is up to nearly 60%, leaning towards the iPhone 15 Pro models.

The report also claims that the tetraprism lens for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max has begun shipping to assembly partners from LG Innoteck. Both iPhone 16 Pro models will feature this component, which will improve optical zoom capabilities from 3x to 5x.

Along with the tetraprism lens, the ultra-wide-angle lens on both iPhone 16 Pro models will also increase to 48 megapixels. On the other hand, the standard iPhone 16 models will have improvements in aperture, improving low-light photography, including the ability to take close-up photos - macro, and the dual rear cameras will be arranged vertically to allow for spatial video recording.

Additionally, the iPhone 16 series will feature a new Shutter button, making it easier for consumers to take photos with their smartphones.

Most old cell phones had one problem: they were thick and ugly, looking like a pear cut down the middle. The Motorola Razr V3, on the other hand, was thin, gorgeous, and very popular. Before smartphones became popular, the Motorola Razr was considered the spiritual predecessor to the iPhone, becoming the dream phone of many.

Impressively thin

Motorola invented the cell phone in the 1970s, commercialized it in the 1980s, and popularized it in the 1990s with the Star Trek-inspired StarTAC. However, the company later became notorious for its conservative approval process, which essentially prevented it from bringing any new products to market, losing its market dominance to Nokia.

When veteran engineer Roger Jellicoe received a concept model for an ultra-thin clamshell folding phone, he realized the product could have a future. He assembled a team to work on the project in the evenings and on weekends, code-named “Razor,” and was also supported by Geoffrey Frost, Motorola’s vice president of marketing.

Two decades ago, jeans pockets were not the ideal place to keep a phone, as it could cause the phone to dial itself while in the pocket. Unlike today’s smartphones with capacitive touchscreens, the buttons on the phone could be activated by any kind of pressure if the phone was not locked. These accidental attempts resulted in dialing from the speed dial or recent calls list, making “ringback” calls quite common.
