If everything goes according to Apple's plan, the company could launch its most expensive iPhone ever.
There have been many rumors about the existence of a new ultra-thin iPhone model called the iPhone 17 Slim that Apple will launch next fall. While many rumors say that the iPhone 17 Slim will be released after what Apple achieved with the iPad Pro in May, a recent prediction suggests that the product may not appear due to the iPhone maker having difficulties in designing a new motherboard.
The iPhone 17 Slim may still exist to launch next year.
However, if the company really surprises with a new breakthrough, the iPhone 17 Slim could become the thinnest iPhone ever. But to own this product, the amount of money that users need to spend is not cheap when the latest rumor says that the device will have a starting price of around $ 1,299 (32.9 million VND). The remaining products have the same starting price, including the iPhone 17 at $ 799 (20.24 million VND), iPhone 17 Pro at $ 1,099 (27.84 million VND) and iPhone 17 Pro Max at $ 1,199 (30.37 million VND).
Currently, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the most expensive iPhone model ever, starting at $ 1,199 (30.37 million VND). More notably, except for the super slim design, the iPhone 17 Slim seems to only have the basic features of the standard version, including the A19 Bionic chip and even just a dual camera. This is completely different from the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, which have the A19 Pro chip and a triple camera system on the back.
The good news is that the iPhone 17 Slim also brings 120Hz ProMotion display technology with LTPO, which adjusts the frame rate from 1Hz to 120Hz for different tasks to save power. It's an exclusive feature that is said to remain on the iPhone Pro line this year. In fact, even the standard iPhone 17 gets upgraded to this advanced and long-awaited display technology.
But to own the iPhone 17 Slim, users have to pay a lot of money.
Adding the iPhone 17 Slim to the lineup next fall, Apple is expected to still launch four iPhone models at the event. That’s because the company will kill off the iPhone 17 Plus after the current sales failures of the Plus models. As a result, next year’s iPhone 17 family will include the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro, and 17 Slim. This marks the end of the Plus lineup since Apple implemented it on the iPhone 14 in 2022, meaning they will only have a 3-year “lifespan,” similar to the previous “mini” lineup that had a 2-year “lifespan” (iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini).
In terms of screen size, the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro are said to have the same 6.27-inch display (as opposed to previous claims that the iPhone 17 has a 6.1-inch display and the iPhone 17 Pro has a 6.3-inch display), while the iPhone 17 Slim and 17 Pro Max have 6.65-inch and 6.86-inch displays, respectively.
The entire lineup is expected to use Qualcomm Snapdragon modems for cellular connectivity. The regular and Slim models will feature aluminum frames, while the Pro models will continue to use titanium frames. They will also feature USB-C connectivity and Face ID housed in the Dynamic Island.
